Maddie Chesebro is a third year studying Environmental Economics and Policy and Public Policy. She is passionate about environmental policy, especially in the realms of anti-oil drilling and decarbonization strategies. Maddie also serves as a Clean Energy Campus Director and Green New Deal Policy Platform Director within the ASUC Eco-Office, working to further student and community involvement regarding environmental needs in Berkeley, and is a part of other environmental organizations across campus. Kikyo is a third-year studying Molecular Environmental Biology and Economics. She is passionate about life sciences research, energy systems, and the intersection between the two. She brings relevant experience in energy efficiency, supply chain sustainability, and wet lab operations. On campus, she is an undergraduate researcher in the Integrative Biology department and a leader in BEACN, a campus environmental organization. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the ceramics studio and exploring the outdoors.
Sriya Vedartham is a third-year Chemical Engineering student passionate about decarbonization, particularly carbon dioxide removal, and how policy, markets, and technology can work together to scale low-carbon solutions. Having worked in research labs since high school, she has seen firsthand how much energy and material research demands, and she hopes to make sustainability a standard priority and an ongoing conversation within UC Berkeley’s research community. In her free time, she enjoys live music, reading, and spending time with her friends and family!
Madison manages the Green Labs team at UC Berkeley, providing creative direction on updating the main certification, strengthening diverse campus relationships, and expanding data collection and publicity. Madison is pursuing a concurrent M.S. in the Energy & Resources Group and J.D. specializing in environmental and energy law. She graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in environmental policy analysis and planning. Fun fact: Madison trains guide dogs in her free time.
