100% Recycled Copy Paper Available through BearBuy

May 4, 2015

BearBuy users will soon have the option to purchase 100% recycled content paper from Georgia Pacific. BearBuy, the campus’ online procurement system, previously offered Aspen 30 copy paper made from 30% recycled content. At $33.94 per case, this was previously the university’s cheapest recycled content paper, according to Alex Butler, Strategic Sourcing. At $32.47 per case, the new 100% recycled copy paper is both cheaper and more environmentally-friendly, leaving no reason not to transition to it for your copy paper needs. The Georgia Pacific Spectrum copy paper is produced completely from post-consumer recycled fiber, and performs at the same high standards as non-recycled papers.

Switching to recycled copy paper is one way UC Berkeley faculty and staff can help reduce the environmental impact of the offices they work in. Other strategies include transitioning from printed materials to online materials and using soy-based inks instead of plastic-based inks.
