myPower, part of UC Berkeley’s Energy Management program, is a comprehensive program aimed at permanently reducing the amount of energy the campus uses. It empowers faculty, staff, and students to take simple energy savings measures that will reduce our environmental footprint and save the campus money ─ returning those funds to teaching and research. The Energy Management project will help UC Berkeley further distinguish itself as an environmentally concerned, fiscally responsible leader in energy conservation in higher education.
Through the Energy Management program UC Berkeley can:
- better monitor buildings, energy usage, and fix problems quicker
- support campus units and individuals so that they can save energy
- share some of the financial incentives savings with operating units
- implement a new energy policy that supports this effort
The Energy Management program is one of several initiatives sponsored by Operational Excellence.
