Fahmida Ahmed is a Sustainability Specialist at University of California at Berkeley. In
addition to broader sustainability related strategic efforts on campus, she primarily manages the
Climate Action program, a greenhouse gas emissions reduction research and implementation
program at UC Berkeley (http://climateaction.berkeley.edu). She coordinates implementation of
ongoing and pilot projects, researches additional emissions reduction opportunities in campus
operations, guides graduate and undergraduate students researching campus climate action and
sustainability projects, and manages the campus greenhouse gas emissions inventory and

UCSB decision processes, implementation paths, emissions inventory, relationships with UCOP,
the very first Green Initiative Fund for UCSB, as well as various emissions reduction
mechanisms.

Fahmida earned a B.A. in Economics from Smith College. Prior to attending the Bren School,
Fahmida worked for the Bay Conservation and Development Commission as a legislative
analyst, Siebel Systems as a marketing manager, National Oceanic and Atmospheric
