Cal Day is Thinking Greener! Sign-up to participate.
Cal Day is thinking greener! The organizers are planning to set up an area on campus just for campus groups to show off/publicize/do outreach for their sustainability efforts. The
idea is to have the road between LeConte and the Campanile Esplanade be a
'green space' - tables and tents will be set up the way they are in front of Dwinelle.
This is a great opportunity! Cal Day, which is Sat. April 22, is an
annual open house for the campus. Approximately 30,000 visitors have come
in the past few years to learn more about the campus and all the exciting
things going on here. It is also an important day for potential incoming
students - the event falls after they have received their acceptance
letters and before they have to make their decision about where to go.
I need to know what groups are interested in being part of Cal Day. Any
campus group is welcome to be part of the green space and please think
expansively!
Please let Christine know no later than Monday March 5 if your group is interested
in being part of Cal Day. (cshaff@berkeley.edu or 643-4793) I'll share
the initial information about how many groups want to participate with Cal
Day planners and will provide detail as further planning takes place. One
important note: groups must commit to having people at their table from 9am
- 4pm. If you have any questions about participation or the day in general
I am happy to answer them.
Please consider being a part of Cal Day! I know April is a busy month.
This is an exciting, great opportunity for us to let a large audience know
about all the wonderful work we are doing on the campus ourselves along
with the contributions we are making to the larger community. It's great
to get to be part of this annual campus event and to have a specific role
that can only grow.
