Greener Dollars: Sustainable Investing and University Endowments
With an endowment of nearly $6 billion, the University of California maintains significant influence in the global marketplace. This influence could be used to promote ideals of environmental sustainability and community development, yet currently the University's investment policies do not include such goals. Mark Orlowski, Executive Director of the Sustainable Endowments Institute, will present a public lecture on the basics of socially responsible investing (SRI) and explain how universities and individuals can leverage their investments for a healthy, clean economy. Dessert and refreshments will be served.
