Paid Sustainability Internships Opportunities for Graduate Students

5 paid internships are available. The descriptions are below or visit www.summerinternships.us for more information.

Please pay particular attention to the first intern program, below,
and be apprised that applications are due February 15, 2006.

- The SUSTAINABILITY CORPS is a new internship being developed
for launch in summer 2007 for graduate students from a variety of
backgrounds (public policy, business, agriculture, architecture,
environmental sciences) who want to spend the summer working on
sustainability projects for a commercial, public sector, or not-for-
profit sponsor. Assignments are anticipated to be with leading
organizations on the West Coast.

- PUBLIC SECTOR FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FELLOWS is an opportunity
for graduate students in public and business administration programs
to spend next summer working for public agencies and associations on
financial management projects and job rotations. Past placements
have been Oregon, Florida and the Washington D.C. region.

- OREGON PERFORMANCE INTERNSHIP is designed for graduate
students specifically interested in performance measurement and
management in the public sector. Most placements are in Oregon, but
several may be made in Washington state.

- eGOV INTERNS is a program for graduate students from a variety
of disciplines (public policy, marketing, industrial engineering,
computer science, organizational development, change management) who
are keen in joining the revolution in electronic government. During
the 2006 inaugural year, eGov Interns were placed state and local
governments in Oregon, Georgia, and Massachusetts.

- GENERATION NEXT (previously known as Leaders of Color) is a
diversity program aimed at developing next generation managers and
leaders for the public sector. GenNext recruits students of color who
will be college seniors and graduates students by the end of spring
term 2007. All placements are in Oregon.

The Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State
University hosts the internships. Each includes an orientation
session and five-day training institute as part of the preparation
for work with a sponsoring state, local, or non-for-profit enterprise.
